April Fools’ Day
April Fools’ Day, where did it come from? Still historians are yet to find the reason behind this historic day, but there is one thing we do know, is that you need to be on your toes, because the not so scary Alliance Marketing and Design team is after you. On one of the most light hearted days of the year, friends, families, colleagues all come together to sabotage one another, making it laughable if you’re on the end of a gentle prank but also a nightmare if you receive a brutal one. This year at Alliance, we have a very particular set of skills, skills that make us a nightmare for people like you, we will look for you, we will find you and we will prank you!
You may already know our identity from the Chinese New Year Blog, and hopefully this will continue to give you an insight into our potentially blood boiling colleagues.
Jess – Trade Marketing
As you may know there is a hint of mischievousness about Jess, we all know 100% effort will go into pranking others, so it is only fair the same is returned. A fan of the Eco Products, you could say Jess loves Earth, so this can be labelled as a present rather than a prank, bringing Earth to Jess. Planting a grass garden in her keyboard (which does take some skill); she can continue to look after the Earth, even from the comfort of her desk. Jess may however find it difficult to water her plants.
Chris – Designer
Chris a deep down softy, and this can be seen by the love he has for his new car. If you think you have loved before, think again, until you hear Chris talk about his car then you will never see true love. So, it is only right his prank involves his car. A classic for Chris, covering his car in Post It Notes, a prank that could be a very laughable experience, but could also be potentially horrifying for him. Always look on the bright side Chris, at least this way you get spend more time with your car, even if it is removing thousands of post it notes.
Ryan – Trade Marketing
The self-pro claimed cool one of the group. Ryan is the one that everyone will be after, and there lays the beauty of the prank, no-one will prank him. Leaving cryptic notes warning him, and every so often casting an evil look, while smirking ever so lightly, will leave Ryan feeling helpless to a prank that never comes. “Enjoy your coffee; Have you used the water cooler yet? Aren’t you going to answer that?” This is one of the cruelest trick of them all, but being ‘Favourite’ of the group, comes with responsibilities and unfortunately for the smooth, saucy, trend setter he is going to have to deal with them.
Mark – Web
Being the muscle of the group, you need to be careful with Mark. A man that focuses on his work, rarely distracted, until now, by everyone! Mark will not know who is doing it, colleagues will not admit to it; it is the perfect crime with all suspects involved. Hiding a baby monitor underneath his seat, and making sounds loud enough he can hear it, but quiet enough that he cannot track it, will test his patience and the usual calm composed figure will come into question. Of course no one else will claim to hear it, but the real question is who will crack first, Mark or the team?
Ben – Content Marketing
It was a tough one deciding a prank for Ben, but we managed to find a quirky inventive prank to match his likewise personality. Everyone loves jelly, so let’s hope that Ben does too because he may be seeing quite a bit of it when he comes to the office. A tough prank to conjure up but a very worthwhile one, because who does not love finding their mouse in a huge chunk of jelly. After his affair with the Soy Sauce, if Ben splashes a bit of that on his jelly, then the mouse will be back in use in no time.
Bethany – Marketing Apprentice
The sweet, innocent baby of the group, it would be unethical to prank Beth, but at Alliance no prisoners are taken. If you have a desk you are getting pranked, rules are rules. Oreo’s have similar qualities; they are sweet and most of the time innocent until we get our hands on them. By replacing the creamy inside (which you should eat yourself) with minty toothpaste it is a devious way to prank someone, one that requires someone with an inner devilish side to perform such a sin. Be warned, you could see Oreo’s flying around the office!
Debbie – Design
Last but not least, the ray of sunshine in the group, a bundle of joy with an exuberant personality that oozes happiness, but do we want to see that inner spice hidden within Debbie? Course we do, it’s April Fools, blood needs to be boiled! Once again we attack the keyboard, by replacing a couple of the keys around so the letters are in the wrong place, it is a prank that we hope she will not see coming. By not mixing them all, it will seem that nobody has tampered with it, but by the end of the day the spelling mistakes will turn into sheer annoyance and anger. The eagle-eyed designer, will unwillingly have a newly designed keyboard, will she ever type the same again?
