Over the last twelve-months hand hygiene has been one of the three main media talking points within the cleaning arena (surface disinfection and personal protective equipment being the other two). Numerous companies have worked to bring new ranges and products to the market in an attempt to snatch their share of the profits this new in demand commodity offers.
But in May 2021 Tork (a part of the Essity group) brought two new options to their already well-established and reputable skincare range. These came in the form of Tork Clarity Foam Soap and Tork Odour Control Liquid. Both revolutionary and boasting benefits for their users by way of functionality and green credentials.
Firstly, under our spotlight is the Clarity Foam Soap. The main focus of this is to deliver on its mantra of:
“Secure the new hygiene standard with no compromise on sustainability”
A 2020 Essity Hygiene & Health Study1 found that 54% of global consumers have now increased their demands and requirements for companies to exhibit sustainability efforts and protocols. As such, Tork set about creating a skincare solution to help businesses meet their new and increasing green standards and with Clarity have succeeded in producing a very good eco-alternative.
The formulation of Clarity contains 99% of its ingredients from natural origin and seven of the nine ingredients are sourced from vegetable origins. In turn, this has had the effect of lowering the impact the soap has on aquatic life. The washing ingredients have been reduced by 70% and carry no environmental hazard statements whilst also results in a reduced toxicity for aquatic organisms. Furthermore, the formula is readily biodegradable and is certified by the EU Ecolabel as proof of its environmental qualities. It also benefits businesses by way of needing 35% less water when using due to the fast foaming formulation that Clarity boasts.
Fitting in with their current range of dispensers the cartridges are easy to refill having an efficient refill time of less than ten seconds. Finally, the bottle itself collapses as the contents is used which helps to reduce waste volume by 70% meaning businesses get better value when compared with other options.
Now, we turn our attention to their innovative Odour Control liquid soap. The purpose for the development of this product is to help professional chefs keep their hands clean and odour free. The key focus when creating the product centred around food preparation and serving. The soap helps to prevent the transfer of food residues from the hands to other produce and surfaces whilst also removing strong odours like fish and garlic.
Additionally, the soap is also efficient at removing residual food fats that may be present on the hands also. The expedient removal of odours from the hands this soap offers allows chefs to continue with prep and cooking tasks without the need for lengthy breaks. The soap is also gentle on hands, a key quality Tork wanted the product to have as they understand and appreciate the need chefs have for frequent use during shifts. Just like Clarity odour Control has also been EU Ecolabel certified making it a great green-option for busy commercial kitchens looking to meet certain eco-goals. It equally fits the current Tork range of soap dispensers.
With both of these products businesses have two great skincare options they can now chose and invest in. Both soaps offer users some of the best functionality presently on the market ensuring hand hygiene and welfare is at the forefront.
