For those who don’t know, National Picnic Week is all about embracing the idea of people coming together in the wonderful outdoors. Sharing food; drink, games and inevitable tans from catching a few rays, this week of outdoor dining is all about enjoying good feasting and good company.

Meat surrounded by pork, coated in breadcrumbs and oh, there’s bacon in there. Ideal! Golden Fish Goujons

 

You know when someone says to you “something smells fishy around here”? This will be a time it will be followed with “and it smells delicious”. For a recipe that describes its skill level as “Easy Peasy”, these battered sole fillets will taste like you’re eating them in a 5-star restaurant next to a marina. First dipped into a flour mixture including salt, pepper and cayenne pepper, the sole is then added to the bowl of egg and breadcrumbs,  giving that extra magical crisp. Be sure to get the seafood sauce to serve with it too. The memory of it’s complementary taste will never leave your pallet.
