We recently received an enquiry from someone wanting to know why toughened glass is more expensive than standard glassware and if it was really worth paying the extra? So here’s what we know….
When glass breaks or shatters, which behind a bar happens quite frequently (unless you’re Tom Cruise). It shatters into really sharp, jagged shards, which can obviously be quite hazardous. Although toughened glass is not unbreakable it has a much greater impact resistance, which means it can last 10 to 50 times longer than ordinary glass. It also breaks into smaller, nearly blunt, pieces making it less likely to cause severe injury or deep lacerations. In the long run you’ll save money because you won’t have to replace your glassware as often and at the same time you’ll be creating a safer environment for your staff and customers alike.
One of our most popular products for use in pubs and bars is the Conical Toughened Beer Glass - available line governement stamped here in packs of 48 for just £29.99 (ex VAT)
