Inspired by the Government’s Design Out Crime programme, which challenged the industry to try and design a glass that would help to make drinking venues a safer environment for customer, a new pint glass has been launched.
Utopia’s ‘Perfect Pint’ glass is designed to shatter into twice as many small pieces of glass as traditional toughened glass to further limit the possibility of glass being used as a weapon.
Utopia have been working on the various technical challenges of mass-producing safer glasses and they have been trialled at a number of major pub chains and at a broad spectrum of outlets including sports bars, students’ venues and traditional pubs.
