Cocktail anyone?

Signature Martini Glass

Signature Martini Glass

If someone asked me to draw a cocktail glass (or a martini glass) I would scribble a stemmed glass, with a cone-shaped bowl placed upon a stem above a flat base. I’d like to think it would be similar to the glass on the right but my drawing skills aren’t up to much. These days a wide variety of bowl and tumbler shaped glasses are available, and the contents of the cocktail dictates which style of glass is used.

For example, Martinis are generally served in the traditional cone shaped glasses (James Bond style), while White Russians are served with ice in a tumbler, crystal glasses shaped like bowls are often used for tropical cocktails with blended ice….the list goes on.

A popular choice for parties is the Cancun Cocktail Glasses. These glasses from Durobor have been reinforced around the rim, making this one of the strongest cocktail glasses around. So when someone at the party gets tipsy and drops it, your glass has a greater chance of survival.

As with other stemware, the stem allows the drinker to hold the glass without affecting the temperature of the drink.
