Eat Out magazine has recently published the results of its ‘Best of the Best Restaurants’ poll – listing the top 100 restaurants from accross the UK.
Several weeks of research from a wide range of sources such as; The Good Food Guide, The Observer and Michelin Great Britain & Ireland have gone into creating a list of the most sought-after venues serving the finest food by the crème de la crème of British chefs.
In their attempt to find the best catering establishments, Eat Out scoured the interent, checked restaurant guides and local and national newspapers for awards presented to restaurants. Each entry recieved a point for every accolade recieved in 2008/9 and also takes into account any Michelin stars (seen as the peak achievement) when they were gained.
The winner continues a great year for celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal as his Fat Duck restaurant in Bray secured the number 1 spot to go along with its awards as ‘The Best Restaurant in Britain (Good Food Guide 2008)’, 3 Michelin stars and 5 AA rosette’s to name a few.
