We are already over a third of the way through 2009 and sales on the Alliance Online website have been good. Given the current economic climate we weren’t expecting the business we have been doing, especially so soon after the Christmas rush. Recent sales figures from 11 leading pub and restaurant operators show that in January like-for-like figures were ahead 5.6% against the same month in 2008. Operators are still expecting a tough 2009 but the evidence suggest people are continuing to go out to eat and drink.
