An improperly cared for machine could remain dirty and become sluggish, raising its energy and chemical usage and making it more susceptible to blockages or malfunctioning. Here are some cleaning techniques and methods to ensure the long life of your warewasher.

  • 1. At the end of each day, open the machine door and remove any racks.
  • 2. Remove both the top and bottom wash arms from inside the machine and inspect the spray-jet nozzles for any blockages.
  • 3. Carefully remove any food or other debris from the machine interior and clean all internal surfaces of the wash tank with a nylon brush before wiping with a clean, damp cloth.
  • 4. Remove the main tray filter and the drum filter and brush them clean under running water.
  • 5. Use a damp cloth to wipe clean the wash tank trough.
  • 6. Remove and brush the flat disc filters under running water.
  • 7. Check all chemicals, such as detergent and rinse aid, and replace if necessary.
  • 8. Use renovate powder on a regular basis in order to clean the machine.

    This is a good checklist for cleaning dishwashers. All appliance should be properly cleaned and cared for if one would like them to last longer and to perform as if they are new.
